Could you remove the "human" check from the RSS feeds? It's kind of the point of RSS feeds to be accessed by a machine.

I'd really like to submit my new softsynth Anukari ( removed link ) to the MIDI innovation awards, but the form keeps rejecting the images I want to upload, despite them being in pixel-perfect 16:9 format and definitely bigger than the minimum size.

Greetings.

I create and edit MIDI files in CAKEWALK in piano roll mode. The files then get sent to the QRS Music Roll factory in Pennsylvania to be made in to piano rolls which I then pump on my 1921 player-piano. I am a "Pianolist". That's a person who, when pumping a player-piano can, using certain controls and methods, make the music sound non-mechanical - even very expressive. At the moment, I am planning to make a piano roll of Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini . I have the sheet music for it, but it would take FAR LESS TIME if I could find someone to scan and convert the sheet music to a MIDI file. That's my main reason for joining MIDI.org. Of course, whoever would help me with this project would be invited to attend a private performance of the piece on my player-piano. I have posted several piano roll performances on Youtube, but am not allowed to post the link. If you'd like to watch the videos, please email me. removed link

Sadly, the new forums never got properly ported from the old. Attachments never made the transition. Current settings in the new forum do not allow pictures or more than one attachment. Links to other posts in any of the pre-transition posts do not lead anywhere valid. Notifications for new posts do not appear regularly. The forum index does not show the most recent reply date, just the original post date. Read/unread posts are saved in a cookie rather than in the user account, so when looking at the forum on my phone, I get different unread/new post listings than when I go on my laptop. It's not easy to tell when you have been logged out, and then when logging back in, you are not returned to the page you were on. The overall user experience, though it looks better, feels much less functional, and as such, it seems the interaction on the forums has essentially dried up.

I check the forum every day, yet it was more than a week before I saw a new reply on an older post. I also am just now seeing someone else's new post from a week ago. And my new posts, which previously would have been answered within a day or two, sit for weeks without a peep.

Hi everyone,

I am looking for advice on optimizing MIDI performance during live shows. I have been using MIDI controllers and instruments for a while but I am running into issues with latency and reliability when performing live. What are some best practices or tips you would recommend to ensure smooth MIDI operation in a live setting.

Specifically I am interested in:

Choosing the right MIDI equipment: Are there any brands or models known for their reliability in live performances.

Configuration tips: How should I configure my setup to minimize latency and avoid signal dropouts.

Troubleshooting: What common problems should I look out for and how can I resolve them quickly during a show.

Thanks in advance for your help

Best, 😀
